Thought it best to come off the main board for this thread.
This is how I see it.
The Russian will be elected anyway because he's a Russian. That said he was the rather ill-disciplined and vociferous speaker at the AGM who had clearly had Charlie Bell in his ear. We would not vote for him.
Helen Spendlove is Jewells' best friend. I don't know her and have no reason to dislike her ( though she did walk off with the Pool 3 BBQ tray in 2008 and never returned it. Things like that go deep !). We would certainly not normally vote for her due to her 'connections'.
Then we have the other two. I can't for the life of me believe Hogan would get many votes but you never know....TBV owners a very odd lot (present company excepted of course). Obviously he should be barred from standing anyway but, as we know, the voice of the people only matters when Darren Ford agrees with it and I guess he will remain in the voting process whatever anyone says. I guess also Darren is desperate to keep him in as this should probably ensure he (Darren) gets third place at least. We would never normally vote for either of these two.
So, as none of the candidates appeal to us at all, the only thing to do to register our disapproval is not to vote
..............unless of course we decide to vote tactically.
So what are the 'tactical' options here? I guess it depends on what you want to achieve.
1) Vote for Helen Spendlove to ensure one of the other two come last ?
2) Vote for Hogan and Helen in the hope that Darren comes last?
3) Just vote for Hogan to ensure he comes ahead of Helen?
Then, in the event of 2 or 3, and Hogan IS elected, our case for totally abandoning this committee altogether is that much stronger. Hogan coming last will just have played into Darren's hands.
For me, the biggest aim is to ensure Darren comes last. No committee with Hogan in carries any credibility anyway.
Not voting may register a protest but it won't change anything.
I personally want all of them out! They are trouble makers...all of them. No-one listens to them anyway so I just don't see the point in voting. There is nothing positive that comes out of their mouths...ever. We are still no closer to getting our deeds....we are still no closer to sorting the water problem out!
Just don't vote!
Do you have their group's email address please as Mark apparently needs to email them!
Nicky,
I TOTALLY understand where you're coming from. I also want them all out.
I only raised the question of some 'tactical voting' because to not vote means we hand all power and control to others. A large tactical vote from this group COULD actually change something.
If the primary objective is to get rid of Ford then we COULD all vote for the other three and achieve this.
I'm just throwing the 'tactical vote' option into the ring to see what people think.
Mick, I will discuss this with George tonight (I've banned him from emailing me on the subject! lol) as we had decided last night to not vote at all and refuse to recognise the Committee. Just a couple of points from me though. Firstly, I don't think I would be comfortable with voting for Hogan then kicking up a fuss if he is elected. If Darren Ford's past and present behaviour is anything to go by, he wouldn't be able to stop himself declaring on the forum that we all voted for Hogan, which would lose us any support we would hope to gain I think.
Secondly, whether Darren gets back in or not, he will still be on the Committee as far as I'm concerned, acting through his father. Did you notice the post from the Committee account, obviously written by Darren but signed 'Darrell'?
These are just my initial thoughts, will post again later after I've spoken to George.
I feel the same too. I don't want to vote for any of the others as they are still Darren's puppets! We won't achieve anything if any of them are voted on. By not recognising them will make Resco deal with them even less!
Fair enough, Ladies
I just felt it was worth examining all options before deciding on the best course of action.
I know Jules agrees with you both on this one.
I actually think she would need extensive therapy if I told her we were going to vote for Hogan.
I do believe thought that if Hogan does get elected it may not be the absolute worst thing that could ever happen as it may shake some of the silent majority into action (or they may just briefly raise their heads from their pillows before nodding off again.)
It is hard to comprehend how a site filled with intelligent, strong and articulate people could be so dominated by a few very bad people and a dozen sheep.
I cant see the sense in voting for anyone of these candidates
No one is going to recognise them ,they struggle now to achieve anything, but with Hogan
on board ,who in there right mind would sit down and discus anything with him! certainly not Resco.!
They are now just a committee in name only ,but with no power.
Brian.

I also agree that not voting is the best route. They are not in any way recognised by me - they have no authority or mandate from the majority of owners and it should be made clear to anyone who thinks that they do represent TBV that they DO NOT. How to go about this I am not sure but perhaps a letter to the Belediye signed by all owners who wish to distance themselves from them might be a starter!
