I think this also needs to come off the main board.
Many many people are now asking about creating a new 'committee'. So what do people think we need to do to set up a new 'body' and what is our purpose ?
Here are a few of my initial ideas.
I have already stated I don't think we can call ourselves a 'committee' or claim to represent any particular number of owners. We are just a group who do NOT want to be represented by this committee.
We really need to get David Hall on board (which may be harder than we think) otherwise I can't see what we can achieve.
If we DO get him on board then any info we get MUST be shared with ALL owners.
We will need to announce ourselves on the Bully Board and can expect to get a whole host of abuse for it ! (Perhaps we can draw straws for this one !)
I propose we call ourselves "Status Quo" (that'll confuse most of them ) with the strap line "If it ain't broke, don't fix it !"
Mick - you have my support for this idea and I would like to develop it further. I like the idea of just a group of people prepared to interact with Resco and put out data and information to all owners - perhaps through the Resco Newletter or by obtaining that database and setting forth with a new broadcast? It would be good to get other people's views and ideas (incidentally - because this category is at the bottom I usually don't see it unless I scroll down which I often forget to do!
Frankly I am unsure of the answer to this problem.
Really, to have alleviated all this nonsense we needed at least 4 people to stand and be elected. If only one of us stood , then they would be in an impossible position as they would always be outvoted, subject to abuse and really placed in an uncomfortable position.
I cannot see how an alternative committee would work. Maybe only along the lines of an owners group representing just the owners hereon who support that stance. Something along the lines of the original C.O.G. that Mick was a part of. The users of the BB could not really condemn or abuse that method as that's exactly what they set-up (with their own forum) back in 2011 I believe.
Currently, I am at a loss on the best way forward - save to use my vote by abstaining from this farce of an election.
I do think however, that a COG may have some merit/
I like the idea of a 'concerned owners group', less contentious I would think. It's difficult to say what it will be able to achieve as it all depends on Dave's willingness to engage with the 'group' but I would hope that he would be willing to discuss the issues affecting TBV and address our concerns. As for the 'group' broadcasting information to owners, again I think that depends on Dave. If he's not happy with it then the information he provides will be so limited that it won't be worthwhile. Personally, I think Dave should be pushed to provide more information to owners via the newsletter.
